By sorting out descriptions about De’ang’s history and culture from the ethnic documents, we find there are some shortages about the descriptions, it was not be written down until Qing Dynasty,the time was too late, meanwhile, the contents and details are rather indistinct.In this case,those shortages not only create space for researchers to discuss De’ang’s ethnic origin,forefather, evolution progress, other related culture and so on, but also provide opportunities for De’ang people to arrange and express their history and culture.De’ang people gradually construct their clearer historical progress through classifying those controversial historical and cultural matters. Such representations on history and culture, to some extent, make up for the deficiencies of the descriptions from ethnic documents, on the other hand, they’re also good for constructing De’ang’s collective memories and ethnic identity. Meanwhile, on the realistic background, the representations of history and culture are more targeted.On the basis of De’ang oral history on its typical historical and cultural issues, comparing the oral history with the ethnic documents’descriptions and scholars’ studies, the paper reveals that De’ang have some different expressions form the historical literatures and researchers, while the expressions are affected by the later both. In other words, the oral history which generating from the progress of selecting and attributing between different points of view is urged by the ethnic identity and interest demands. Firstly, in the history aspect, De’ang people establish a relationship with JinChi States and make the history more clearly by restating JinChi States;To prove the representation "the earliest developers of Dehong State" via exploring the earlier ruins,the migratory legends and places where the people were populated.Secondly, in the culture aspect, with the reference of "De’ang’s Jiaohua Festival " and the spread time and route of Buddhism, De’ang also put a further representation for history, religion and customs under the direction of "the Jiaohua Festival has been going on for thousands of years".On the bottom of De’ang oral history representations which are different from the ethnic documents and scholars’discussions, this article mainly discuss and research the process of De’ang’s oral history about their history and culture and reveal the reality-oriented appeals that their expressions point to.
