This study is to investigate Paul Klee in the watercolor and oil painting works, with symbolism asthe main form of creative works.Objective: contact the relationship between Klee symbolism and romanticism works; elaborate thesymbolism works form of Klee; analyze the spiritual pursuit of Klee symbolism works.Methods: collect Klee’s water and oil painting works and diaries, collection of works through thebooks and network, and the integrated use of biographical study approach, style modeling method,literature analysis method.Paul Klee’s symbolism works use a lot of line, color, build the whole movement and fantasticartistic conception, contact romantic form, and in the creation and appreciation, use richimagination and more power to complete the painting.Paul Klee’s symbolism works form is divided into three parts: symbolic, the separation andcombination of abstract structure and mysticism. In the frame of the performance maximally freepeople visual experience under the restriction of the perceptual knowledge, so as to drive theimagination in the form of language extension. In the expression of emotion, Klee shows theexistence of the spiritual as well as independence, pay attention to fairytales mentality for thesensitivity and the observation of life and self reflection outside the world.
