Imagination is the psychological processes of the human’s brain which will transform the appearance of existing so as to form a new image.It is a special form of thinking.It is an advanced and complex-raising activities too.The creation of music and music performance and music appreciation are insparable from the imagination.For performers,he can perceived meaning of the musical works by imagination.When we appreciating the music,we can not imagine by virtue of the subjective consciousness.We must comprehend the works’ creative background and the works’ distinguishing features and so on. When the performers are playing the works,they must to use their own creative imagination to enrich the music image.Schumann is one of the most representative composers of Romantic Period.In that era,people are full of passion and fantasy.These features is also reflected in his works.In this paper,we will take "Papillons" as an example to guide performers to image.And this imagination is based on the work’s creative background and other objective factors.
