With the development of the international Chinese learning, the press ofChinese textbooks has also been springing up over the past ten years. But theflourish on the quantity of the textbooks didnt bring in the correspondingimprovement of the quality. The lack of the deep studies of the current textbookslead to a weak the theory system of the textbook-compiling. Thus, most of thetextbooks, which were published recently, are short of specialty and have nothingnew. Apparently, this blind way of compiling textbooks could hardly improve thequality of the Chinese textbooks, much less than the healthy development of theChinese learning.This essay mainly focuses on the practicing contents.As for the practicingcontents, the research study on the main four aspects: the pronunciation, thevocabulary, the patterns, and the Chinese characters. And the four capabilities:speaking, listening, reading, and writing.Cognitive drive is the desire for knowledge aimed to be familiar with what youwant to know. The unique characteristic of the subject of teaching Chinese as aforeign language explains the fact that the subject faces different students who comefrom different educational and cultural background with various accumulations ofliving experience and knowledge. So whether the job is successfully done, to moreextent, depends on whether you have successfully stimulated the cognitive drive ofstudents in learning Chinese.Through theoretical analysis and investigation in questionnaire, this paper isaimed to have a discussion on how to stimulate the cognitive drive of students inlearning Chinese. The combination of the two subjects of cognitive psychology andteaching Chinese as a foreign language will definitely help to find a more effectivesolution to this question. According to the analysis in five ways: initiatives, emotionalfacts, demands for constructing systematic structure of knowledge, teaching ininteresting ways, degree of participation, this essay finds a solution on how toeffectively stimulate the cognitive drive of students in learning Chinese.
