This dissertation is a study of Zofia Lissa’s music aesthetics theory, the researchmainly focus on the particularity of her music and her later stage music aestheticstheory, and work on getting a conclusion of Zofia Lissa’s music aesthetics theorysystem through learning from Lissa’s3great books Questions of music aesthetics, onThe specific qualities of music and New draft of music aesthetics.Aside from foreword and conclusion, the body of this dissertation is divided intosix chapters. Chapter One is the introduction, and explanations are given for researchmotivation, brief biology of Zofia Lissa and her books, and Summary of previousresearch on this topic. Chapter Two explains cultural background of Zofia Lissa’stheory, introduces Maxism, music aesthetics and music thoughts in Soviet Union.about Lissa’s thought on music external relations, for example, music andsuperstructure, class nature of music. Chapter Four discourses Lissa’s musicparticularity theory, Sort out the main content of this theory following the logicalorder. Chapter Five elaborates on Lissa’s late stage music aesthetics theory, like theessence of music, the val Chapter Three is a summary of Lissa’s early stage musicaesthetics theory, discuss ue of music, how to understand music and musicacceptance. Chapter Six will contains author’s comment of Lissa’s music aestheticstheory, discussion on its influence on part of Chinese music aesthetics researchersand modern Chinese music aesthetics, and tries to get an objective andcomprehensive evaluation of Lissa’s music aesthetics theory, find the characteristic ofthe theory and point out the significance of her work as well as possibleimprovements.
