Chinese idiom is an important component of Chinese vocabulary, which hasdeep cultural connotation, and is closely related to the daily life of Chinese.TheChinese Idioms which derived from historical stories, literary works and are producedby the changes of the times are widely used. It attracts great interest of the foreignstudents, but the particularity of Chinese idioms always result in an error.This thesis summarize the questions about Chinese idioms and Chinese idiomsteaching of teaching Chinese as a foreign language researched by predecessors withthe method of literature review,comparative analysis and statistical method;Emphasizes the significance of Chinese idioms teaching from the aspect of culturalteaching and cross-cultural communication; the sthdy collects the errors whichforeign students made relying on the HSK dynamic corpus of Beijing Language andCulture University’s,part of teaching material and other materials. What’smore,analyze the reasons that make these errors occurred. In order to reduce thedifficulty of teachers’teaching and students’learning, and improve the students’ studyefficiency, the study proposes six methods of Chinese idioms teaching basis on thepredecessorcs research and combine the theoretical knowledge of pedagogy,psychology, and teaching practice.
