The active power filter (APF), as a dynamic harmonic suppression andreactive power compensation apparatus, has gained more and more researchattention due to its advantages such as anti-perturbation ability to the networkparameters and fast dynamic response compared with the traditional passivepower filters. The memristor is a two-terminal passive electronic element thatwas postulated by Leon Chua, and it is used to describe the relationship betweenflux φ and charge q. The resistance of the memristor depends on its internal stateand it is characterized by nonvolatile memory. In this paper, memristor and APFare combined to construct a new type of active power filter (MAPF), which canimprove the performance of APF. The main circuit, harmonic current detectionalgorithm and control strategy of MAPF are studied. The concrete researchcontent is as follows:(1) In order to introduce the memristor to active power filter, this paperreviews the origination and evolution of the memristor, analyzes the physicaland mathematical models of memristor, and then builds its voltage controlmodel and current control mode by Simulink. After exploring the effect ofparameters, contrive a new kind of high-pass filter with the memristor,inductance and capacitor. Compared with ordinary high-pass filter, the high-passfilter based on memristor has excellent filter capability and low energyconsumption.(2) Based on the parallel hybrid APF, MAPF is constructed by thememristor high-pass filter and single tuned filter. Firstly, apply d-q method todetect the harmonic current. The moving average method is adopted to improvethe performance of low-pass filter in the harmonic detection algorithm. Carryout a comparative experiment with Butterworth low-pass filter in Matlab. Theexperimental results show that the design method has better detection accuracyand operation speed. Then the control method of MAPF are studied. This paperputs forward an improved triangle-wave linear current controlling method andselects the parameters of PI controller. According to parameters which is selected in this paper, the simulation model of MAPF is founded. The simulationresults illustrate that the MAPF has excellent compensation effect.
