To improve the performance of meshing, reduce the concentration of stress and improve the stiffness of transmission, Chinese scholars proposed a new tooth profile:CTC(circle arc-tangent line-circle arc).This paper focuses on the transmission accuracy of this new harmonic gear drive and proposes a new way to calculate the transmission error. This paper also gives the transmission error results of the experiment and shows that the new way is reasonable for engineering application.This paper analyzes the transmission error of CTC-harmonic gear drive though three aspects. The transmission accuracy of this reducer is affected by the instantaneous transmission ratio, the manufacturing and installation error and the return difference. The transmission error caused by unsteadiness of the instantaneous transmission ratio and by the manufacturing and installation error is analyzed through mathematic model and calculated with the help of the software of Matlab. The return difference is measured by the methods proposed by other scholars.This paper proposes a scheme of transmission error test based on commercial products of Heidenhain. A program of error test and interface of this software are designed based on Labview. Through this scheme and the software, the transmission error of harmonica drive is tested. Through comparing the theoretical calculation value and experimental data, the transmission accuracy calculation formula is proved to be correct with the help of spectrum analysis.
