Design Of Home Appliances In A Single Apartment Kitchen Accessory

With the fourth wave of single life, more and more young white-collars with high education and decent income intend to live a single life initially, which contributes to the characteristics of single economics. At the same time, the rapid growth of housing price promotes the development of single apartment.As a significant functional zone of the house, kitchen determines the living quality directly. Instead of the traditional kitchen, people are pursuing an innovational kitchen system with appearance, efficiency, intelligence, and environmental friendly, which makes an integrated kitchen. Kitchen appliances are the key implements of kitchen features. However, the young single groups are busy with work, so they lack of cooking skills. What’s more, the kitchen area is relatively small, which makes it harder to match the kitchen space and appliances.This thesis is people-oriented with the focus on the demand of young white-collar groups, thus conducts a study on design of house appliance match. This thesis aims at improving the living quality, and posing a reference for the appliances design. First, a literature review is presented to illustrate the concept, development, and current status of the single apartment, integrated kitchen, and appliances. The general design method of integrated kitchen appliances is presented, which clarifies the significance of kitchen appliances and kitchen integration. Second, this thesis conducts a research survey for the young white collars by analyzing their requirement and simulating their behavior, which completes the design practice of single apartment integrated kitchen appliances.
