Modern warfare makes more stringent requirements on the range of conventional weapons. Compared with other extended-range technologies, ramjet technology to extend range is more simple, more high-growth process efficiency, higher end kinetic energy, which has become a national research hotspot. It has widely used in extended range missiles, rockets and other weapons. In the case of loading the same quality medicine, ramjet puts up higher specific impulse. Solid rocket-ramjet engine applied to conventional rocket weapons can improve the rocket range.This paper described the current situation of solid rocket-ramjet engine study and researched the background of the subject. Then it described the progress of domestic and abroad solid rocket-ramjet engine with nozzleless. Thermodynamic calculation method was proposed, then we analyzed the theoretical performance of solid rocket-ramjet engine and provided a theoretical basis for the preliminary design of ramjet. On this basis, we established the solid rocket-ramjet engine preliminary design and performance computing model. The design of inlet and gas generator was put up. The establishment of the nozzleless trajectory model to calculate the internal ballistic performance was put up to compare with available disposable booster performance. Based on the above we established the ballistic model of stamping extended range rockets. Based on the preliminary design of solid rocket-ramjet engine and performance calculation model and combined with the aerodynamic exterior ballistics data for solid rocket-ramjet engine, we accomplished the flight simulation of the rocket.The above calculation was achieved by MATLAB programming language. We can conduct internal and external ballistic calculation for solid rocket-ramjet engine. Also we can analyze the characteristics of height, speed features and operating characteristics of the whole trajectory.The content and some significative conclusions can provide some available guidance for the engineering design of solid rocket-ramjet engine.
