| This paper regards Gabion revetment as the research object. It is researched thatthe frost heave adaptability, ecological landscape effect, ecological restoration effectand the materials aging of Gabion revetment, combining with the special environmentalconditions of seasonally frozen ground. Through experimental research and engineeringapplication, the appropriateness and reliability of Gabion revetment used in cold regionsis examined. The research achievements are as follows: The Gabion revetment is aflexible cellular revetment structure, which can increase heat flow resistance anddecrease the energy transfer. So the frozen depth and frost-heave capacity could bereduced. And asymmetric frost heave will be avoided. If the water supply is sufficiency, then the maxim frost-heave capacity will occur at the canal bed footing, and the frostheaving deformation of which should be taken into account in design. The maximresidual deformation occurs at canal bed footing during freeze-thaw process. And meltsettlement deformation will come into being in the side slopes of canal. It indicates thatGabion revetment has self-healing function, and it can commendably adapt to frostheave deformation. This structure Gabion revetment is a good ecological bandprotection structure with good ecological effects and scenery effect, which can play anactive role in the ecological restoration of river bank slope in cold area and canconducive to harmonious coexistence of man and nature. |
