With the development of global economic, the electric power industry has been developing rapidly, especially for South America and Southeast Asia s developing countries and regions,and because of the increase of electricity demand the electric supply situation is tension. Due to the current international economic communication further, there always have local users with a large demand for60Hz power equipment, this provides a rare opportunity and a vast market space for China’s power generation equipment manufacturing industry. But at present domestic power equipment manufacturers rarely for60HZ power equipment research and manufacturing, especially for high efficiency, simple structure, reliable performance, low operation cost, maintenance convenient static excitation air-cooled generator. Therefore, according to the market demand our company absorption of imported ALSTOM50Hz100MW air cooled generator technology and combined with the operational characteristics of the60Hz generator, developed efficient60Hz150MW static excitation of air-cooled generator. This paper mainly studies and discusses some problems of60Hz150MW static excitation air-cooled generator in the development process, including the follow:1. the different cooling style selection;2. the different excitation style election;3. the generator structural design;4. The rotor strength finite element analysis and structure optimization;5. Testing and validating the performance in accordance with the relevant standards;Type test results show that the60Hz150MW static excitation air-cooled generator performance indicators fully meet the design requirements. The successful development of this unit can not only perfect the product structure, and satisfy the market demand, provides the methods and experience for60Hz larger capacity air-cooling generator development, and bring theoretical, practical significance.
