Since the world’s first intelligent building-City Place was born in Hartford City, the Intelligent Building in the countries all over the world have been developing vigorously. In today’s globalized economy society, the domestic intelligent building industry has achieved international standards. Many cities have been starting large-scale infrastructure construction. Administrative buildings, commercial buildings, office buildings, residential buildings and other buildings are developing toward the direction of intelligent building. Especially, the urban complex project, which is one set of commercial, office, residential, school, and can meet people’s daily basic living intelligent building, gets favored by many large developers.The intelligent performance of intelligent building depends on the merits of its weak current intelligent system design. A reasonable, mature, economy, energy, green weak current intelligent system design plays a decisive role in embodying its smart features. Urban complex is a complex intelligent building engineering, the weak current intelligent system design involves multiple subsystem design. And that how the entire urban complex has intelligent features that adapted its function is the focus of the design.This paper has designed the weak current intelligent system design of an urban complex. This weak current intelligent system design that includes design principle, system components, and various subsystem design is comprehensively elaborated. First, the weak current intelligent system design idea of the urban complex project,5A design standards and design specifications are briefly introduced in the design principle. The system uses the practicality, reliability, advanced, scalability, standardization and economy as the design concept.5A design standards are BAS (Building Automation System), OAS (Office Automation System), CAS (Communication Automation System), SAS (security automation system), FAS (Fire Automation System). Next, a detailed description of the basic structure of the weak intelligent systems is got, and the various subsystems of the composition, function and design principles are described. Then, with the engineering example, the designs of the various subsystems, which are generic cabling system, building automation system, security system (that includes intrusion alarm system, video security monitoring system, electronic patrol system, parking management system, visitors intercom system), cable television systems, public broadcasting and background music systems, electronic information dissemination system, are specifically described. Finally, it gets a summary of the design and the significance and prospects for development is briefly introduced.
