Surfacing technology is an important technology of the great remanufacturing engineeringand surfacing engineering.In recentl years,surfacing technology is more and more widely used inthe repairing field.Because it has many advantages such as the low cost,the easy operation,thesimplified procedure and so on.And the great economic returns has been obtained.For the wearfailure of mechanical parts,surfacing technology is an efficient and economical repair method.Theship intermediate shaft is an important part of the ship shafting,but it is inevitable to be wornduring the operating process and it greatly influences the safety of navigation. Researching onrepairing the abraded ship intermediate shaft by the resurfacing welding repairing technology,notonly has the economic significance,but also is beneficial to the development of greenmanufacture.Electrodes D277and D256were chosen in this test, surfacing process is conducted on the45steel substrate which material is the same as the ship intermediate shaft. Electrodes D277andD256were chosen in this test, in which the electrode D277was used as surfacing welding andrender welding at the same welding process parameters, respectively. And the post-weld heattreatment is performed for one of the groups. Observeing the difference between the as-weldeddeposited metal and heat treated deposited metal. The repair effect of the ship intermediate shaftwas discussed by analyzing microstructure of the welded metal, hardness and wear-resistanceability.The research results indicated that the hardness and the wear-resistance property of thedeposited metal obtained using electrode D277were greatly improved. Compared with as-weldeddeposited metal, the microstructure of the heat treated deposited metal is obviously different. Thehardness and the wear-resistance property of the heat treated deposited metal is higher than thatof as-welded deposited metal. The wear-resistance property of the deposited metal obtained usingelectrode D277and the post-weld heat treatment is performed, which can achieve the besthardness and the wear-resistance property. And the various properties of substrate material isgreatly improved. It could be used to repair the ship intermediate shaft.
