A Web-based fault diagnosis expert system is researched and designed to settle the fault-prone and remote maintenance difficult situation for500T powder molding press in this paper. To solve the needs of remote monitoring applications for expert system, the method of the combination of PLC-site data acquisition system and web-based expert system is used. The fault tree model of the500T power molding presses is established and analyzed on the basis of fault data, such as failure phenomenon, causes and remedies. In order to improve the overall efficiency of the fault location and repair processing, electro-mechanical system maintenance allocation and expected model is adopted to analyze the failure events maintainability which is mainly used for the sort of minimal cut sets in the fault tree model. The knowledge representation method and the matching fault reasoning are designed by frame-based and production rules according to the fault tree model.A friendly interface for the system is developed by using programming tools of Visual Studio2008and SQL Server2008under windows7. The test results show that the system has the advantages of simple data updating, clear fault expression and high efficiency.
