How to develop and utilize the renewable resources have been become the topic of global concern when the energy shortage and environmental pollution increasingly serious. As the water resources has a clear advantage in the renewable resource, it’s development attaches great importance to in every country in the world. With the increasing number of water diversion type power station, how to ensure the diversion type power station more safe and economic operation is of great significance to develop and utilize our country’s water power.This paper based on doubly-fed hydro-generator units operation and control of the ac excitation control system as the main content, carried on the thorough research from theory to simulation. First, overview of the turbine regulating system and excitation system, as well as the domestic and foreign research status of doubly-fed induction generator. Second, AC excitation doubly-fed unit of the variable speed constant frequency operation principle is analyzed, mathematical model of doubly-fed induction generator, coordinate transformation, operation characteristic has carried on the theoretical derivation, and put forward the stator flux oriented vector control method, and laid a theoretical basis for full text study. Third,the research of the transient process of water diversion type power station are introduced in detail the research content and situation, the surge chamber, pressure regulating valve and guide vane closing rules be introduced that how to used in water diversion type power station, and by an example analyzed their selection criteria, the matters needing attention and the setup process, the main problem of this subject be put forward, introduces the main advantage of doubly-fed generator, mainly Outlines the doubly-fed generator running area, and the analysis of the largest hydropower tracking strategy.Finally, aiming at water diversion type power station at no-load grid-connection of voltage instability, based on the analysis of existing technology of hydraulic generator grid connection, this dissertation discusses the doubly-fed induction generator no-load grid-connection control and load regulation control, the mathematical model is established on the stator flux oriented vector control, the simulation experiment was carried out in Matlab/Simulink environment and the results show that in the no-load grid this unit can be more stable to ensure the unit voltage amplitude, with the grid voltage phase and frequency matching, in the rotor speed changed it also can ensure the stator side output voltage constant, and in the load variable this unit of the stator side voltage stability, and the unit can achieve the independent regulation of active power and reactive power.
