As a source of clean renewable energy, biomass is gaining attention around the world. It can take direct combustion of biomass, pyrolysis, liquefaction and gasification methods be used, pyrolysis, liquefaction, gasification technology is more mature than others, which are in the initial stage of industrial application. The most common ways of biomass on a global scale is utilizing direct combustion and gasification power generation, but compared to traditional biomass for fossil fuels, biomass exist higher water content, low bulk density, low energy density, strong seasonal and other disadvantages, resulting in long-term use has been in the process of small-scale, low utilization of the status quo. This not only a waste of energy, but also easy to pollute the environment.This paper presents a way which is use the carbonization of biomass at first,then combustion or gasification. The biomass after carbonization overcome their own shortcomings, such as raw material after carbonization, the moisture content from60%to less than20%, volatile matter content decreased from70%to15%, while the fixed carbon content was nearly doubled. The biomass after carbonization can not only for long-distance transport, but also the quality of the biomass carbon equivalent lignite can be carried out large-scale industrial use.In the combustion of biochar characteristics, this article from the composition of biochar, studied the characteristics of biochar under different conditions, the influence between the heating rate and combustion air during combustion of biomass carbon in the activation energy and frequency factor. By Arrhenius mathematical modeling equations, obtained energy and frequency factor under different conditions. It will provide the most basic parameters to the direct combustion of biomass carbon technology.In the gasification of biomass char characteristics, this article from biochar reactivity started to investigate different carbonization temperature and holding time of biochar in order to obtain its reactivity, thermal gravimetric analysis techniques for data collection and analysis, and mathematical model, using the average rate of response than to characterize each of the conditions obtained biomass char reactivity.Experimental results show that the carbonization of biomass enough as a perfect alternative to fossil fuels. Not only the quality is equivalent to lignite, and the S element content is far lower than fossil fuels. It is a truly clean and renewable energy.It will enhancing biomass charcoal combustion process by increasing the heating rate and increasing the oxygen concentration, but it is different between different biomass. increased oxygen concentration of corn stover biomass burning charcoal role in promoting performance higher than that of wheat straw biomass charcoal, while the rate of temperature rise of wheat straw biomass charcoal combustion role in promoting larger than corn stover biomass carbon.Gasification research, carbonization temperature and holding time on biomass gasification reactivity of carbon plays opposite effect, the higher of carbonization temperature, the lower of obtained biomass char gasification reactivity, while the holding time of lOmin~30min, the gasification of biomass char reactivity is increased.
