In the face of traditional fuel automobile, more and more serious crisis of resources and the pollution of the environment, the research and development of electric vehicle is the major issue facing the industry sustainable development. At present, the key’factor which restricts the development of electric vehicle is the power battery, due to the battery when the temperature elevation induced by monomer battery uneven temperature distribution, it will short battery life and reduce the cell performance. The effective method to solve the battery temperature imbalance is joining battery thermal management system in the battery box, and it is very important significance for the safety and reliable operation of the electric vehicle.This paper mainly from the following aspects that the battery thermal management system were introduced and the research, basic contents are as follows:(1) Study on the thermal properties of lithium-ion battery and heat generation mechanism.(2) Establish the lithium-ion battery thermal mathematical model and conduct the thermal performance simulation analysis, obtain the temperature distribution under the situation that the battery box charge and discharge.(3) On the basis of the analysis in the battery pack heat, combined with the actual needs of the design of thermal management system scheme.(4) Application of FLUENT simulation software for battery box cooling effect that proves its rationality.(5) The hardware design, through the experimental verification of the battery group actual temperature field distribution and the situation of the temperature rise, show the feasibility of the scheme, and be aimed at the inadequacy of existence, put forward the conclusion and prospect. This paper based on the practical application putting forward a kind of battery box heat heating solution which through the gate-type outlet air cooling method, this is a good solution for the increased cost of using bring by the inconsistency of the battery packs’ temperature, which have high practical significance to the battery pack thermal management system.
