With industrial development and social progress, people’s environmental consciousness gradually strengthened. The system without or with little volatile organic compounds (VOC) and hazardous air pollutants (HAP) has become a research direction of new materials, and the waterborne epoxy system with water as solvent or dispersion medium get more and more attention. This topic focus on the research and application of waterborne epoxy curing agent which is developed by the Epoxsy resin division of Baling petrochemical corporation, Sinopec. This topic has conducted the following study:the synthesis of modified mannich amine, the production of waterborne epoxy curing agent and waterborne epoxy varnish, waterborne epoxy system in the conditions for the engineering application of modified cement mortar, etc.This topic is based on the research system of mannich amine. Mannich amine was with improved Polyether structure was produced through exchange reaction, with excellent comprehensive properties of polyether amine as amine source. Then by using low molecular weight epoxy resin to modify the mannich amine chain, and to improve its compatibility with waterborne epoxy resin. It’s able to produce waterborne epoxy curing agent, with hydroxyl-terminated polyethers as hydrophilic modifier and glycidyl ether as sealing agent. By controlling the charging ratio of the end capping agent, it’s able to produce waterborne epoxy curing agent system with an adjustable adaptation period, to meet different application requirements.The research results show that when the D-230:DMP-30(mol)=3:1, EP/MA1(mol)=1:2, taking PEG6000as raw material to produce PEG-EP, and when n (EP):n (PEG)=5:4, the PEG-EP addition amount of15%is optimization system. The waterborne epoxy curing agent got in this study is quite compatible with the waterborne epoxy resin produced by Baling Petrochemical Corporation, the performace of modified cement mortar is increased significantly. When the polymer content is15%, the epoxy mortar of independently produced waterborne epoxy curing agent has a well compression performance (60.2MPa) and bending performance (12.2MPa), which are reaching to or even excess the requirements of compression performance (55MPa) and bending performance (12MPa) for level I polymer modified mortar, has a good prospect of further development and application.
