With the continuous development of science and technology and the rapidpopulation growth in the21st century, conventional energy sources areincreasingly exhausted. The development and utilization of new energy and theoptimization of energy structure have become an irresistible trend. Tidal currentenergy is a clean and non-polluting energy; it can be used repeatedly and hashuge resources. Compared with wave energy, offshore wind and solar energy, ithas stronger regularity,smaller climate impact, and greater energy density.Therefore, tidal current energy, as a potential new energy, has attracted more andmore attention from many maritime countries, and many researches anddevelopment have been conducted.Tide power generation technology has been changing with each passing dayin recent years, but it is still the emphasis and difficulty of the research of tidepower generation technology that how to improve the efficiency of the electricgenerato at variable flow velocity and reliability and security of equipment.Therefore, we take the10KW Tide power generation system as a research objectin this paper. A sea test platform was setted and a mathematical model was builtapplied to the research of control strategies of tide power generation system atvariable flow velocity. Comparing with existing control models, themathematical model take not only the energy collection efficiency of the turbinebut also the efficiency of the drive system into consideration.Corresponding todifferent velocity, we can adjust the parameters of each parttof the system bycontrolling the model to keep maximum output power during operation of thesystem in velocity cycle. Because values of the energy collection efficiency ofthe turbine and the efficiency of the drive system can not be obtained by usingthe mathematical model, we determined the parameters of the model byperforming sea tests. Finally, we finished the actual control model of10KWTide power generation system in this research by revising the parameters. Toincrease reliability of the equipment, we designed the support framework of theimpeller of the tide power generation system. In the design, the obstruction of the framework to the tide was reduced while guaranteeing intensity of theframework on the basis of the stress analysis of the framework in variousoperating conditions to improve the device reliability.
