This thesis targets Yuanhao’s strategies about the foundation of countries and starts with dyna mic changes in the relationship between Xia Regime and Song Dynasty to carry out analyses and conclude three strategies about the foundation of countries, i.e., the strategy of countries’ roles, external strategy where war and peach interact with each other and military strategy. Th is paper gives a study on the effect and function of relation between Western Xia Regime and Northern Song Dynasty on Li Yuanhao’s founding strategy from three strategies established b y Li Yuanhao:grand triangle strategy, foreign strategy with war or peace negotiation, and mili tary strategy. All strategies formulated by Li Yuanhao to found Western Xia Regime are base d on change in the relation between Western Xia Regime and Northern Song Dynasty. Almost all aspects such as military, economy, culture and diplomacy of Western Xia are related to N orthern Song, and all decisions made by Li Yuanhao for each step to found Western Xia cann ot be separated from response of Northern Song. The relation between Western Xia Regime a nd Northern Song Dynasty is the most important foreign relation for Western Xia, and it profo undly affects Li Yuanhao’s founding strategy; the change in relation between Western Xia Re gime and Northern Song Dynasty can be found from each change of strategy. In the first part of this paper discusses the Xixia based on its condition, from their own interests to the role of the state, the Northern Song Dynasty, Liao Dynasty three strategy of Xixia regime. The second part mainly discusses the causes and effects of the use of war and peace talks alternating external strategy of the Northern Song Dynasty and the Liao Dynasty, the last part of the military strategy of Xixia before and after the establishment and its application to the role of.In general, the establishment of a country is affected by many factors, and it is require d to fully consider the foreign relation which decides the destiny in terms of formulating of fo unding strategy. The objective can be completed only via timely handling this increasingly ch anging relation and timely adjusting your own strategy.
