The Rural Advanced Ages Life Satisfaction Case Studies

At present, China has entered the stage of development of a rapidly aging population, theage structure of the population continued to rise, the sustained and rapid growth in the numberof older people is unprecedented.With the acceleration of Chinese aging of population,theliving conditions of senile people have aroused the attention from various circles of societyand scholars both at home and abroad put the life satisfaction of the elderly into perspectiveearly.For the very elderly,they are in need of better care and emotional support owing to poorphysical health, relatively fragile psychology, weak ability of economic self-supporting andlack of social involvement that all these make their lives into a corner.As a special vulnerablegroup, the oldest old should be strongly concerned in terms ofliving conditions and lifesatisfaction. Therefore, studing the life of the oldest old status quo with the life satisfaction asthe breakthrough point is not only the objective demand to improve the quality of the elderlylife, but also the proper meaning of the concept of scientific development for building awell-off society in an all-round way and realizing the harmonious society.This casa study in Village H, Jinan City, used the questionnaire to collect data.Inaddition,established a database and analyze by statistical analysis software SPSS16.0.On thebasis of descriptives analysis of current situation of the rural elderly’s life satisfaction, theresearcher used the multivariate logistic regression analysis and path to analyze the factorsaffecting the elderly life satisfaction.Research results show that the rural elderly’s overall life satisfaction is relatively high,the unilateral satisfaction of the state of the economy, intergenerational care, livingenvironment is also relatively high,but the health status and social participation degree ofsatisfaction is relatively low. Sex, education, the satisfaction of physical and mental condition,transverse comparison of physical and mental conditions,satisfaction of inter-generationalcare, the horizontal comparison of inter-generational care satisfaction,economic conditions,horizontal comparison of economic conditions, the satisfaction of social participation andsocial participation of transverse comparison made an impact on the rural elderly lifesatisfaction.Men who has lower educational level, the higher the level of satisfaction of thestate of the economy, intergenerational care, living environment， the higher the life satisfaction of the oldest old in rural areas.Therefore,we should promote the establishment of community endowment to ease thepressure of taking care of the elderly,home care is also beneficial for elderly in later life. Onthe one hand， consolide rural cooperative medical care, carry on community healthcommunity health services and improve the rural elderly medical conditions to guarantee ruralelderly demand for medical services.On the other hand,different social sectors should payattention to the leisure life of old people, enhance rural elderly social participation, set upelderly activity room and other places of entertainment for the elderly; what’s more,ruralcommunity should organize elderly activities actively and encourage the elderly to take part into enrich old people’s later life and improve the quality of their spiritual life.
