| China has become an aging society since the last century, the ageingpopulation has been increasing rapidly. In the past years, we saw anincrease in number of elderly crimes, as well as elder criminals; we musttake this as a serious issue, or else it will eventually turn China intoa country with one of the most elderly related crimes. Therefore itbecomes significantly important to do a study on this subject.In China, there are not too many reports, researches, or studies inthis particular academic field, less than the studies we put intojuvenile delinquency. In this report, I simply going to do a collect andedit on materials i can get in touch; after that we’ll discuss thepossibility of preventing elderly crimes, it may be a cornerstone toprovide help for future researches.I’ll start with looking for different points of views, from thecondition of recent crimes, both societal level and individual view,in order to understand the reason of such crimes. There will also be suggestions on social security of elderlies to serve the purpose of preventing it beforehand.In chapter one and chapter two, it will be the introduction of elderly crimes. In chapter three, they will be divided into different categories,based on seriousness and characteristic. In chapter four, it will besummary of this elderly crimes study, in there we’ll see how family reason,psychological condition, economical status, and retirement protectionaffect the elderly crimes.In chapter five, facing the convicted elderly criminals, we’ll discuss if it’s suitable to jail them, where and how long; will theresome lighter punishments for the elderlies; or even settle it out of court.In the last chapter, as chapter six, we’ll come back to prevention, by perfecting laws and social mechanisms, including medical andelderly care, understanding their needs and resents. At the end we’ll talk about how it actually works in both town and countryside. |
