Strategy in Asia and Pacific regions has always been a crucial component of the US’sglobal strategy. Since21century, the US’s global strategy has leaned towards non-traditionalsecurity issues characterized by9-11and terrorism. The strategic centers were mainly MiddleEast regions. With the closure of the Iraq War and the withdrawal of American forces fromAfghanistan, the US has started to adjust its global strategy deployment. After Obama waselected, he further proposed "Return to Asia" strategy in a high key. There are both domestic and foreign reasons for the US’s removal of its strategic centertowards the East. Externally, besides the whole international political and economicenvironment, the unbalanced relationship between the countries in the Northeast Asia is oneof the most important reasons. International pattern is a relatively stable structure of nationalstrength. When the powers between different countries change, the political pattern in thoseregions will change accordingly. The relationship between countries in Northeast Asia iscomplicated and the countries are all relatively big. In recent years, problems like Nuclear theproblem of North Korea, dispute over ownership of islands, right-deviating of Japanesepolitics made the US feel that its control over this region has been reduced. Meanwhile, withits overall power accelerating, China has enhanced its influence in Asia constantly---asidefrom a leading economic power, its military strength has been increased. If the US keeps itsoriginal impact, the relative political power will changed definitively, resulting in a declininginfluence over Asia Pacific region and it may even be forced out of this area. This is not whatthe US wants, and it contradicts its global strategy. Therefore, in order to preserve its politicalpresence in this region and safeguard its propaganda of "political balance" in the NortheastAsia, the US has constantly readjusted its strategy in Asia Pacific region to achieve the goal of"Returning to Asia".The article is founded on the point that the political pattern in northeast Asia region isone of the independent variables which influence the US strategy in Asia Pacific region, which is a induced variable that will change according to the independent variable listedabove. The article sums up how the Northeast region’s political pattern influenced the USstrategy in Asia Pacific region through description, analysis in a logical sequence. It furtherdiscussed the reason why the relationship between northeast Asia countries will influence theUS strategy in Asia Pacific region. Finally, it proposed suggestions for China, who immersedin this environment for how to treat this situation.
