Study On The Government Management And Control Of Internet Rumors

Since the Internet has been produced, Internet rumors also appeared. As a new form of rumors in the network era, Internet rumors do more damage than the traditional. Many Internet rumors comes the Internet into the reality, to disrupt social stability and cause people panic. Accordingly, our government should be enhance the Internet rumors, explore the source, the process and the impact of the Internet rumors. Thus on this basis, it is necessary and valuable to put forward a system of effective mechanism for the government control of Internet rumors.Firstly, this paper makes a contrastive analysis of rumors and Internet rumors. We believe that the Internet rumors not only have the basic characteristics of the rumor, but also have the rapid and fierce propagation velocity, the extensive route of transmission, the strong concealment, the great harm, and the mutual penetration between the Internet communication and traditional communication. In the face of the complicated network era, the Chinese government has made great efforts in the theoretical exploration and the realistic practice process of Internet rumors. However, it is undeniable that the governments still have many problems in Internet rumor control. Such as the imperfect legal system, the single network information management mode, the online media abandoned professional ethics and allowed the spread of Internet rumors, the low quality and lack of public accountability of the Internet users, and so on. All these problems are the social harms of the Internet rumors to China’s current society. Combined the government responses to the problems and difficulties of Internet rumors, we should step to build an effective mechanism to help government departments to deal with the Internet rumors effectively. Specifically, the government can be suppressed from the source, process control, affect the digestion and accountability built into the Internet rumors coping mechanisms. In addition, we should also perfect the legal, transform the government role, innovation the way, and enhance the ability to revise and perfect the existing rumor control mechanism. Only in this way, the government can realize the governance of Internet rumor effectively, and then optimize the network environment, protect the healthy development of the Internet.
