With the rapid development of the financial industry, the events of financial consumers’rights by infringement has happened frequently, especially the financial crisis of2008has seriously infringed upon the financial interests of consumers. As a result, the effective protection of their rights seems more urgent and important. Financial consumers in the financial markets, with its significant characteristics, need special laws to protect. The financial reform of United States after this crisis compels financial consumers’legal protection system to operate more completely. Chinese legislation on financial consumers has not yet defined. Besides, there are many problems about financial consumers’protection laws. Therefore, drawing on the useful experience of the legal protection of consumers in the U.S. financial and learning from its shortcomings are of great significance to build our system of financial consumer rights legal protection system.The basic features of the financial consumer and the asymmetric of financial information demonstrate the weak position of the financial consumer. Therefore, it needs special institutions and norms to protect their benefits. After the financial crisis of2008, for the effective protection of the financial consumer rights, the United States has reformed and improved its financial system. The most important result is the Dodd-Frank Bill, which creates the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, the Financial Stability Oversight Committee and strengthen the OTC financial derivatives regulation and Volcker rules the described system demonstrates strengthening the powers of the central financial institutions, terminating"continue to monitor" trends and enhancing the value of the financial consumer protection level reform philosophy. On the basis of the above analysis, based on the proximity of he U.S. financial system and Chinese national conditions and, by the use of comparative analysis, the establishment of the concept of the financial consumer and legislative principles, reforming our financial regulatory model, emphasizing the financial consumers right to know protection, setting up specialized regulatory bodies to protect its interests and the establishment of efficient financial consumer dispute resolution system and other aspects of financial consumers legal protection system is in order to achieve effective protection of the financial interests of consumers and promote the development of financial markets and prosperity.
