2012is the second year since the "12th Five-Year Plan" has been started, with the steady implementation of the work, China has entered a new period with the characters of deepening reform and opening up, comprehensive economic structure transition and socialist harmonious society building. During this period, domestic and international economic environment changed rapidly which also made domestic security environment more complex in the new era than in the past, the satisfaction of people on social security improved much as the economic environment changed. These new features of the new era put forward higher requirements of police work of Chinese police system. How to meet these requirements and how to better make police work to ensure socialist economic construction gave rise to a wide range of consideration of the society. In view of existing situation, strengthening the performance appraisal work of police officers, better mobilizing and inspiring the enthusiasm and motivation of the majority of police officers have very important significance for resolving the contradiction between current lack of police force equipment and high demands of the new era complex security situation. The police performance appraisal management is the key aspect aiming at managing policeman, and also the core content of the management mechanism of police contingent. Doing better this job can mobilize and motivate the majority of police officers to their potential, and improve the overall combat effectiveness of the police contingent, enhance public security work for sustainable development and play a positive role of guidance, assessment and pulling.Based on theoretical result study of performance evaluation of police officers at home and abroad, this paper analyzes the historical development process and current state of police work content and performance appraisal of police officers of the police station. By deepening into multiple grassroots police stations and doing much work in local fields, make a deep study aiming at changing characteristics of police officers work contents, existing problems, the method system and defects of performance appraisal of police officers. Build performance appraisal index system of police officers by using the method of key performance indicators, by using analytic hierarchy process determine the weight of each index and offer a detailed proposal during the specific appraisal processes with AHP.visual.6.0software.
