| As an important approach to international academic exchanges andcommunications, English research articles play an important role in Chinese andinternational academic community. English research articles promoted the cooperationand communication between China and foreign countries effectively. Therefore,understanding of the genre structure and linguistic feature of English research articlesbecome more and more important.With a corpus-based approach,80English research articles in the field of physicalgeography from China’s English geography journal and international English geographyjournal were collected. These research articles were stabled as two corpus.(Corpus CNSand Corpus ENS). This thesis analyzed corpus data from two aspects. At the macro level,it made a contrastive analysis of genre structure between two corps. And at the microlevel, first person pronouns and verb tense in the sentence of articles were analyzedcomparative.This thesis aimed to explore the similarities and differences of genre structure andlinguistic feature between Chinese and international geography journals. This study alsoprovides some references for the future research of research article writing. |
