"Mountain Grass At The Crack Of Stone"------a Retrospect Of Oil Painting In New Generation In Guizhou Province

New Generation is an emergent group in the process of contemporary socialization. Born in1970s and1980s last century, and in the transitional phase in Chinese society, New Generation possesses a sense of open-mindedness, liberty, and forgiveness, willing to accept newly-admitted thing in terms of culture and ideology. They show such feeling as self-confidence, and innovation in terms of traditional arts, which makes them stepping onto the stage of modern arts contrary to traditional arts, and enjoys wide popularity among the arena of fine arts. In contemporary society, A prevailing variety of mass culture, pop culture and consumption culture have occupied public’s lives especially New Generation, among whom artists’group, under the influence of pop culture, has changed their art creation and art aesthetics secretly, which makes a difference to the viewpoints of Chinese traditional, regional and local uniqueness. Even some artists are driven by the interests at the expense of cultural roots of our own to cater to the market. So, there is a trend that Chinese elite art is on the wane; while excellent local art is treated with indifference; even some are gradually fading out of the public. As a batch of young artists are just out of Academy of Fine Arts, New Generation, when confronted with capricious markets, will be at a loss. The present paper, with the clue of contemporary oil painting, and the research object of art community of New Generation in Gui zhou province, attempts to explore the contemporary locality of "mountain grass at the crack of stone.", and the significance in the development of oil paintings.
