Pan Deyu, a poet and poetry critic of late Qing Daynasty, Whose Yangyizhai Notes on Poetry has been named as "can be said to be accurate". Pan Deyu expressed his own new opinion based on many comments of Li po and DuFu that have been done, which not only filled in the details but excavated depth. His critics are more concentrated and systematic than others, so which are useful to the late researchers. There are three chapters in the paper in addition to the preface and concluding remarks:The first chapter, Pan Deyu’s critics on Li po and Du Fu can be analyzed from the aspects of social environment and academic backgrounds. The social background of domestic worries and foreign aggression urged him to face the reality, which changed his create attitude of notes on poets and poetry:viewing notes on poets and poetry as "yahui" become "create of notes on poets and poetry should benefit to society". Academic backgrounds of his age mainly affect his critic details and standards. His critics on Li po and Du Fu emphasize three aspects of "zhishi","contribution of restoring ancient ways" and "help to the sociality"The second chapter, the main contents of Pan Deyu’s critics on Li po and Du Fu can be analyzed from the aspects of researching their important life story and evaluation of their poetry. It’s beneficial to understand their poetries and objective evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of poetries that bolster Li po and Du Fu’s image by researching their interpersonal communication, title and cause of death. Pan Deyu not only gives Li po and Du Fu the praise that they deserve but objective point out the shortcomings their poetries.The third chapter, this chapter analyzes the principle and features of Pan Deyu’s critics on Li po and Du Fu. Pan Deyu’s critics on Li po and Du Fu are unbiased because he persist in three principles of "only when learn of one’s life story are allowed to critic his works","whether the personality well or badly affects critics of poetry" and "dialectical justice". His critics were guided by Confucianism and carried out with some important things rather than trivial details and has become a feature of specialization.
