A Report On The Translation Of Economic And Monetary Union And The Euro

This translation project selects Economic and monetary union and the euro, anofficial report by Europe Union as its source text, it elaborates on the foundation andprogress of the euro zone, and sheds light on the specific functions of eachorganization of European Union. German functionalism is the supporting translationtheory of this project; it advocates that translating means using the most appropriate,natural and equivalent words to reproduce the source text and rigid word-to-wordtranslation should be avoided. This translation project includes four chapters. The firstchapter elaborates on the background and significance of this project. The secondchapter specifies the supporting translation theory. The third chapter describes thedifficulties encountered and translation methods employed during the process. Thefourth chapter summarizes the lessons and enlightenment gained.
