Jigongshan(Kikungshan) is different from Lushan(Kuling) and Moganshan, it is not the famous mountain with traditional culture. Although belonging to one of the four major summer resort, Jigongshan(Kikungshan) is known to few people in the long history. Many missionaries came to China in the modern times, their footprints spread all over the China. The Jinghan Railway opened to traffic in the late Qing dynasty, which provided a historical opportunity to missionaries. Missionaries found the Jigongshan(Kikungshan) unique features, with the help of powerful advertising campaign, Jigongshan(Kikungshan) became more and more famous, eventually became one of the four major summer resort. A barren hill was endowed with a lot of cultural connotations, no matter how we evaluate, missionaries are the pioneer to Jigongshan(Kikungshan). Jigongshan(Kikungshan) had a number of Christian church and missionaries, covering many countries and regions, meanwhile, American and British occupied the main position. There are a variety of reasons to missionaries, included spreading Christianity, taking a summer holiday, strengthening the national identity, attending meetings, and so on. The number of missionaries presented a periodic trends, political situation became the main factors influencing the changes in the number of missionaries. Starting from their own needs, missionaries carried out many activities belong to the secular realm, including setting up autonomous institutions, establishing church schools, building all kinds of western-style buildings, creating public infrastructures, and so on. All of these secular activities promoted the continuous changes of the society. Including the emergence of new social groups, the formation and evolution of Chinese management institutions, and the establishment of the dual society.
