Teaching Research About Chinese Animal’s Individual Measure Word To Thai Students

Chinese and Thai both belong to Sino-Tibetan, which has a plenty of measurable words. However, they are different languages, of course, they have many differences. For example, there is an obvious difference about animal measurable unit between Chinese and Thai. No matter the units number, the collocation between noun and units, the structure of "number+unit+noun"or the way two nations cognize the features of animals are totally different. Because of these differences, it is inevitable to make some mistakes for those Thai students when they learn it.The study about Chinese unit is posterior to others, such as noun, adjective and so on, and there are still many shortcomings. Comparing to the research of other languages’unit, the situation is same, especially the comparative study between Chinese and Thai. During the time of collecting dates on the unit comparative study between Chinese and Thai, the writer found that dates talking about the unit’s difference on the perception of massive structure are more than on the view of inner structure. For example, Pan Xiuying did a study about individual units between Chinese and Thai, but upon to now, writer has never found a specific date about individual animal’s unit like this thesis. On the same time, the suggestions about teaching individual animal’s unit to foreigners are rarely few. Considering these reasons, writer decided to do a study about it.Writer took a good use of the time being a Chinese teacher in Thai and collected mistakes of individual animal’s unit in the way of questionnaire. On the same time, the writer did a research on Chinese unit from the viewpoint of origin of language. The differences of recognition and culture between two nations and then put forward some teaching suggestions.Actually, in Chinese, many factors influence the collocation between animal and unit, such as nation cognition and different culture, so the writer suggest that we should pay attention to the origin of language,or even a word. Because sometimes when the students ask the reasons of the collocation, some teachers just explain that we are used to choose this one. So this thesis mainly discuss biased errors Thai students make and put forward some available teaching suggestions from the perception of origin of individual animal’s unit, nation cognition culture and so on.
