Gestures-symbolic movements recognized as communicatively relevant by onlookers are an integral part of our communicative efforts and, when we speak, we typically also gesture. Traditionally, gestures have been seen as’paralinguistic’ and therefore outside the realm of the language sciences, including SLA and bilingualism studies. The frequent appearance of gestures in daily communication and teaching provide a starting point for our research which aims at studying the gestures and Chinese verbs acquisition in the Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language (TCFL) junior class from gesture clarification, gesture properties and the experimental result of the gesture usage in verb class teaching.I hope this article can introduce sign language thinking from the perspective of foreign language teaching and further tap the potential of foreign language classroom, put forward significant suggestions for TCFL classroom.First, in the introduction, I conducted research on existing sign language which analyzes unilateral and low comparative phenomenon in the study. Then I conducted comprehensive analysis combining domestic and international sign language and SLA in verbs together then presented in this study assumptions and expectations.Secondly, the thesis gives a reasonable sign language definition which were introduced from three aspects of gesture:symbolic gestures, metaphoric gestures sand beats. The following text gives a full interpretation of the role and nature of gestures then summarizes gestures from language, psychological, cognitive, behavioral aspects in simple terms which highlights the communicative advantages of gestures.Third, through designing comparative tests to investigate the application of sign language in the classroom for the verb second language acquisition effects this thesis sums up SLA research theory in verb. Finally, I summarize the gestures’applying rules in the basis of former research of gesture characters and effects. With the aid of this article research, the author anticipates to contribute the one’s pygmy effort for teaching in the TCFL classroom and related research.
