This paper based on the psychological motivation theories, combined with the results of the field of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Make the students of international cultural exchange school of central China normal university as the object of research, using the questionnaire to test students.The questionnaire has been modified according to special situation of the foreign students.Then from angle of psychology, pedagogy,and second language learning to analysis and investigate the students’ reading motivation.through the research we want to get two goals. In theory,is to combines knowledge of psychology and linguistics, study from the angle of psychology of reading Chinese, enrich the theory of Chinese reading teaching reseach. In practiuce,we want to use the result of this reseach to help teacher teaching Chinese easily.The main body of this paper consists of five parts, the concrete arrangement is as follows:The first part is the introduction, summarize the predecessors’ research, then clarify the subject of this study and value and significance of the research, points out the ideas and methods.The second part is the core concept discussion, make a construction of theoretical knowledge for the below. Determine the motivation factor which will influent foreign students’ Chinese reading.The third part is the data statistics and analysis, analysis the relationship bet ween the internal motivation, external motivation, social motivation, reading effici ency,individually of readers, environment and other factors with the students’Chi nese reading.The fourth part expounds how Chinese reading motivation research guide the Chinese reading teaching.The fifth part is the summary and thinking of this paper, illustrate the research results, points out deficiencies.
