Abstract/Summary:
A questionnaire was issued on how international students learned Chinese language writing based on its research results accessible, coupled with characteristics and nature of international Chinese writing. The survey was done on the basis of three stages "input, output, and practice" of the writing. And then the findings show:(1) the overseas learners generally focus on writing output but neglect writing practice. The most common strategies they use are verification and modification. Arid the diary form is least likely to adopt as well as methods of essay writing and practice.(2) From the view of gender, girls use the strategies of extensive reading, recitation, and asking for help more significantly than boys.(3) The younger students use the strategy of asking for help more than elder ones, which has something to do with their mental maturity and language comprehension.(4) Due to different cultural background there is a significant difference between Asian, European and American and African students in reading extensively, asking for help and textual cohesion strategies?(5) There is a positive correlation between scores and writing input while negative correlation in writing output and practice.(6)From regression analysis, practice strategy has a more positive and predictive power in writing grades, a more effective strategy to learn Chinese writing...
