| Why has Giselle won the honour of the pinnacle work of the French Romantic Ballet and the presentative work of tragedy? It is because of its great success in thoughts and art.These success can be seen in the four aspects that I will talk about in the following.Chapterl.Through the analysis of characters, plots, scenes and the historical background of Giselle, I’ve revealed its double thematic features-that is reacting against the feudalist hierarchy and expressing the ideal of free love and marriage.Chapter2.By analyzing the structure of scenario and the dancing possibility in it, I’ve studied the scenario features-the structures of theatre with one climax following another and the much room it has left for beautiful dances.Chapter3.Through an analysis of its main characters, the choreographic methods and the classic dances, it talks about the dance features of Giselle-the distinctive characters and rich thoughts and feelings have been shaped through those marvellous dances.Chapter4.By analyzing the fate of those characters, art forms and the whole style, it discusses the style and features of Giselle-the romantic style full of dreams and the tragedy style full of sadness. |
