The landscape poems,which takes nature as the main material is notlimited to describe landscape,but also the relative men and things.In west,such kindof poems are also named as scenery poems or nature poems.No matter in China orwest,the chief function of poems is to express the poets’ideal or feelings,Includingthe landscape poems.Chinese ancient poems often combined the poets’depressioncaused by politics and feelings of seeking for wonderland and taoism,havingbanquet with friends,seeing off and going back to countryside,and material ofmetaphysics and buddhism,so they were often different from the western poems.Chinese and Westerners have their own ideas about the nature, Chinese andWestern artists often regard the view of nature as the background of articthinking,their artworks often reflect their understanding to the view of nature oftheir own culture, and form the realm which contains the view of nature. As thefamous poets of the East-West, Lingyun Xie and Wordsworth’s landscape poemsshow such characteristics.From the contrast of their landscape poems, we can notonly see the two poets’ respective pursuit,and the characteristics of their landscapepoems, but also find out the similarities and differences between Eastern andWestern view of nature.This paper tries to restore to the era background in whichthe poets lived,according to personal experience,the mood, the different philosophicand aesthetic ideology permeated in their poems, to analyze and compare thefeatures of the landscape poems of Lingyun Xie and Wordsworth’s.Thus to see thedifference of view of nature between the East-West, which leads to the difference of poetry creation, thereby,the Chinese and Western landscape poems have differentbeauty.
