Chinese culture-loaded words reflect colorful Chinese culture but it is difficult to find out corresponding words and expressions in the target language. When translating these words, translators usually turn to "domestication" and "foreignization". In recent years, the constant increase of China’s international influence has helped to improve the Chinese culture industry, which makes it a urgent need for us to carry forward Chinese culture. Moreover, foreign readers are eager to see more Chinese culture-loaded words and experience the diversity of culture. In the process of translation,"foreignization" which focuses on Chinese culture will be widely used.In the case study of "Red Business", a column of from Phoenix Weekly, especially Chinese culture-loaded words in it, this thesis analyzes the two strategies---"domestication" and "foreignization" and specific translation approaches. According to the need of cultural communication and the demand of foreign readers, it puts forward the principle of "foreignization" as the main strategy and "domestication" as the supplement."Foreignization" as the main strategy requires such methods as transliteration, transliteration plus annotation, literal translation and literal translation plus annotation;"domestication" as the supplement demands such methods as free translation and substitution. On the premise of accuracy, this principle can ensure the flexibility of translation as well as the need of foreign readers, and facilitate the spread of oriental culture and enrich English language.
