Leizhou is located in the southernmost tip of the mainland of Leizhou Peninsula and it is well known as its much thunder. The formation of the special natural environment has folk culture with a strong "Lei" color, which is different from other regional folk culture. Leizhou folk culture is a joint product of the development of Leizhou social history and natural environment. It is the valuable results of Guangdong indigenous culture, Han culture and marine culture and also the rich folk cultural heritage through the folk inheritance. In the Leizhou folk culture, Lei drama is one of the most important parts.Lei drama has a500-year-old history, and developed in the four stages of the girl song, persuading song, bunch play, opera troupes and Lei drama. Now, Lei drama often performs in Leizhou, Suixi, Xuwen, Lianjiang, Dianbai five counties and Zhanjiang suburbs around. As the performance of many people, the grand sight, rich in content, it is popular by the masses and becomes one of the four operas in Guangdong. In2009, Lei drama becomes the third batch of intangible cultural heritage of Guangdong Province. In order to better understand and master the survival status of Lei drama today, we visited Lei City, Chikan District, Suixi County, Xuwen county and other active area for research. By the way of the interview, questionnaire etc, we investigate Lei drama survival condition in western Guangdong and put forward the corresponding development countermeasure.On this basis, It is further explored the development and construction of rural culture. With the development of the rural economy, the living standards of farmers increased year by year, their demands of cultural life are increasing. The rural cultural construction has played a role of the cohesion and integration of the people for the local economic and social development to effectively promote the construction of socialist new countryside in our region. In order to change the backward situation of the current rural cultural construction in our region, learn from the practice and experience of the advanced areas, accelerate the pace of rural culture construction, promote the harmonious development of urban and rural areas, we have the following suggestions:one is to fundamentally change the idea, strengthen the rural cultural work leadership. The two is to increase financial investment, guarantee the funds needed for basic level cultural development in rural areas. Three is to speed up the construction of rural culture of the team, improve the comprehensive quality of employees. Four is to manage cultural facilities. In addition, the further development of the folk culture resources, promoting the development of rural cultural industry. We must stand on a high degree of the urban and rural development and the comprehensive well-off society construction, and actively promote the development of rural culture, the prosperity of industry.
