Public Trait Of Marxist Philosophy And Its Contemporary Value

The term "Public Trait" is not unfamiliar to us. The Public Trait has a long-standing time as a category; the earliest can be traced back to ancient Greek City-State System of Life. In ancient Greek City-State System of Life, the Public Trait was used to describe moral integrity of citizens. The citizens not only can cooperate but also can care for each other. Later with the disintegration of the system, the Public Trait was increasingly changing the original meaning and evolving more meanings. As to the Public Trait in modern time, we usually associate to politics and sociology; it is from political or social aspects. Generally speaking, the German scholar Hanna Arendt and Habermas was to study Public Trait category the earliest, and author of "the Human Condition" and "the Structural Transformation of the Public Field" and other works. They elaborated the meanings of Public Trait, the theory of public field and public problems in detail. Later, many western scholars continued on this basis to the Public Trait and many research results formed, but most of them are related to political and social fields. The public philosophy research in a philosophical perspective was later. In twentieth Century70’s early80’s, with the Chinese process of reform and opening up, the research of the Public Trait began to rise in China. The research of Public Trait also started from the political and social aspects. The Public Trait showed more and more diversified meanings with the development of society, this would gradually promote people to study from a single perspective on public category to multi views multiple disciplines and finally rose to level of philosophy.Social development proves that explaining Public Trait from any angle is feasible and we will get the theoretical results. But influenced by the diversity meanings of Public Trait, that we do research from any aspect possibly will lead to the one-sidedness, therefore only in philosophy with the highest generality and the highest point can we make it. Nowadays, many social and complex problems come into being with rapid development of globalization and the deepening of the society. These problems essentially belong to the public problems. How to solve the public problems concerns social development and the future of mankind. China is now in the transition period, which is full of various social contradictions. The public problem is more important. As guide of our society construction, Marxism obviously can play an important role. In this context, this paper analyses the meanings of Public Trait, relying on Marx’s philosophy works, trying to explore the relationship between Public Trait as independent category and Marist Philosophy as well Public Trait of Marxist Philosophy itself may exist. On the one hand, we can explain Marxist Philosophy in the public’s perspective and broaden the path of the research of Marxist Philosophy. On the other hand, via the research of the Marxist Philosophy works, we are trying to find the Public Trait of Marxist Philosophy and present out. The second aspect is the focus of this paper. To make a detailed analysis on the reality person, social relations, public interests and common interests and problems, we do research from the two important aspects of Marxist Philosophy, which are Marx’s human science and the social thought. So the research of the Public Trait of Marxist Philosophy is expected to put to use it to guide our practice of socialist construction and to solve the social public problems.
