Zhong Han’s painting language is unique in Chinese oil painting world. The special skin texture is an important reason for his characteristic style of painting. This paper takes the formation of his painting texture as the main line. According to the different phases in the development of art, the texture be divided into several performance period. Consider that the texture method always be used in a comprehensive way, it can not be roughly divided by period. So, in this article, I try to divide the process of Zhong Han’s painting texture into three stage by his main painting style. The first stage is the sketch exploration, which is the art form that Zhong Han explore uninterruptedly during his life time. In this period, Zhong Han devoted himself to make the skin texture naturally. The second stage is the characteristics of texture. The painting texture in this stage is formed by the pigment impasto, has a very strong visual tension, to enlarge texture visual enjoyment. The third stage is the texture expression sublimation. The diversity of the texture expression way, such as the injection of the humanistic spirit, and the assistance of the modern technology, present the texture into a very beautiful visual effect. The theoretical analysis of the three stage is the base of the research. This paper aims to have a in-depth study on the aesthetic value of Zhong Han’s painting and to explore his texture making skills. This article will analyse Zhong Han’s painting texture from the three aspects:historical development, aesthetic value and painting skills.
