The porcelain censer type of Ming Dynasty are continued to develop on thebasis of Song and Yuan Dynasties’s. The glaze color and decorative pattern ofporcelain censers are more plentiful than ever, especially the promotion ofwhite-and-blue censers, the censers of Ming Dynasty have strongly characteristics ofthe times. On the basis of previous study, variety, type and decoration of censerswhich use archaeological censers of Ming Dynasty as the research object in thispaper are preliminarily discussed.Foreword: Expound the object of study, summarize the previous research, andclarify the purpose of this paper.Chapter1: Expound the varieties of archaeological censers in Ming Dynasty,and type, decoration, excavation etc... of each variety.Chapter2: Expound the type of porcelain censers. Divide censers of MingDynasty into incense burner, Ding-type censer, Lian-type censer, Cup-type censer,Li-type censer, Gui-type censer, Bo-type censer and rectangular censer according toa comprehensive study on archaeological censer. Summarize the typical type in eachperiod of Ming Dynasty and the change of censer type in different period.Chapter3: Expound the decoration of porcelain censers. Color glaze and theblue-and-white painting are two of the main means of decoration on porcelaincensers. The pattern of censers changes in Ming Dynasty, which has stronglycharacteristics of the times. The paper preliminarily summarize the change ofdecoration of porcelain censers in each period of Ming Dynasty.Chapter4: Make a preliminarily study of relationship between porcelain censersand cultural folklore and religion. Expound the religious pattern and auspiciouspattern which are common on archaeological censers. Make a preliminarily study ofcombinations between censer and other objects in different tombs of Ming Dynasty.Conclusion: Summarize the whole above.
