Analysis Of Female Characters Within Contemporary Meticulous Figure Paintings

Since ancient times, to praise the beauty of females is the eternal theme of Chinese meticulousfigure paintings. There are various definitions for the beauty of females within different times,such as “delicate and pretty female images” of The Northern Wei Dynasty, and “plump femaleimages” of The Prosperous Tang Dynasty, which have become the classic female characters inthe ancient times.Meticulous painting dominates the contemporary art of Chinese painting which is like flower infull bloom, by high quality and quantity, of which the most vibrant is the development ofmeticulous figure paintings with the subject of female characters. To some extent, the femalecharacter leads to the brilliant achievements of the contemporary meticulous figure painting.The painters of the contemporary Chinese meticulous figure painting are trying to interpret thefemale character in their mind by the unique perspective of their own, to convey the uniqueoriental traditional aesthetic. The context is to analyze the comprehension and expression offemale characters mainly from the works of the contemporary meticulous figure painters, as wellas the difference of how male and female painters express the works within the subject of femalecharacters.The female characters of the contemporary meticulous figure paintings are classified by subjectsin Chapter1within the context, especially to further develop the subject of “the female paintersVS female characters”; In Chapter2, to discuss the differences and the reasons of the differenceswhile male and female painters are presenting the subject of female characters, through thecomparison of the works of male and female painters. Finally, I, as a female painter ofmeticulous painting, express the female character of my own works, and some thoughts for mymeticulous painting in the future. The female characters and painting languages within the works of male painters of meticulouspainting are of much similarity, through the collation and comparison of the female characters ofmeticulous figure paintings in the context. However, most of the female painters present thefemale characters of their works from their emotions, that’s why the female characters withintheir works are closer to the painters themselves, as well as the painting language and visualeffects are much more abundant and touchable than what male painters present.Finally, I do hope that I myself can continue to study the subject of meticulous painting offemale based on the context.
