At the turning point between Qin and Han Dynasty, the society was inchaos and the people lived a suffering life. After the stability of Han’sadministration, in order to solve the economic problems left with the chaos, theEmperor adopted the way of nothing and enforced a series of rehabilitations. theeconomy developed and restored quickly, as a consequence, the arts, especiallymusic and dance arts developed very fast. With the superior and inferior forms, itwas widely accepted by the public. This art not only inherited and developed theHan Dynasty’s dance character and good points, but also combined the minorities’dancing qualities on the condition of national fusion. This development resulted inan unique music and dance art and laid a foudation for the prosperity of the dance inSui and Tang Dynasty. At the same time, it was also the solid base for our ancientarts of dance even modern dance, which was the key period of our country’s ancientdance development.The paper states the background and classification of Han’s dance andintroduces the general information of it. Besides that, the main analysis is on theartistic characteristics of Han’s dance. The details are such characteristics as therelationships among art, skill and dance, the couple hardness with softness, etc. inthe second chapter of the thesis, the reasons of systems will be elaborated to analyzethe new style of Han’s dance. The third chapter is mainly about the ideological andcultural connotation of Han’s dance from the aspect of politics, culture, philosophy,religion and folks. The last chapter ranked and evaluated the historic contribution ofHan’dynasty. The methods will involve the documentaries, history, archaeologyand pictures.
