Chinese music history is a compulsory course of musicological(Teacher Education) undergraduates in colleges and universities. It has a unique valuein improving students’ knowledge structure system, broadening students’ musicalhorizon, improving musical aesthetic and analytical capacity, improving the culture ofmusic majors’ taste and style. Also, it establishes dialectical materialism and cultivatesthe necessary intellectuals to adapt to the new era of basic music education. Thearticle,aimed at improving the Chinese music history, based on Musicology (TeacherEducation), with the professional characteristics, it summarizes for the deficiencies ofcurrent textbooks and puts forward the idea of improvement of current teachingmaterials by contrast and exploration. Discussed from textbook content, the degree ofdifficulty and covered knowledge, the article makes the improved teaching materialsmore structured, easier to understand, tasteful, comprehensive and thoughtful. It canstill better suit to the music school (teacher education) professional students’learningand teachers’ teaching. However, through the overallanalysis,the Chinese music history has no exception: Depth without width or widthwithout depth;“hou gu bo jin”.3.the design of improved chinese music historyThe improved chinese music history is diversified, that is, the combination ofpolitics, economy,culture and music. In accordance with the professionalcharacteristics of the music school (teacher education) and training objectives, itimproves the content and form in textbooks, focuses on the vital lines and state-basedtheory and includes the development of Chinese music in various periods,such as: thecultural revolution period of music, music in the late20th century and the music sincethe reform and opening up melt into the regional music history at the same time andthe content of the ethnic minority music makes its knowledge pointscomprehensive,content simple and lines clear. Adhere to the "HouJinBoGu" idea andemphsizing from the angle of the "today",we should improve the new teachingmaterial applicable value. 4.The design of the curriculum implementationHow to put the improved Chinese music history into teaching is the criterion of thesuitability of textbooks.The author respectively laborates from the teachers’ quality,educational background,title,period arrangement and distribution and the teachingequipment configuration etc. Still, he strives to achieve the unity of the teachingmaterial and teaching concept, the compatibility of teaching material and students’learning applicative needs.
