Since the middle of the20th Century, the influence of the western culture on the Chinesetraditional art gradually, as the nucleus of the flower-and-bird painting also began a newexploration. In the Lingnan region, the Lingnan School of Painting,with "Two Master Gao andone Master Chen" as the representative, has played an important role on innovation of traditionalChinese painting, with the changes in painting theory combined with the characteristics of thetimes. After that, on the one hand the Lin-nan Painting School continues to flourish by two waysof adopting apprenticeship and learning by external artist, on the other hand the establishment ofthe Academy of Fine Arts and the creation of the teaching system of Chinese painting enablesmeticulous flowers-and-birds painting to present a scene of prosperity. Cultural policies ofreform and opening up has guided and formed the situation of art ideological emancipation. Most of them have received the influence of traditional LingnanPainting School, they have close relationship with the Lingnan Painting School, but are rich inown unique interpretation in the multiplicity of artistic language and the modernity of aestheticconsciousness.
