According to the perspective of post-modernism, this paper explored the characteristics and values of microfilm from phenomenon to essence.Microfilm, film clips, online video and mobile phone are not equal. Four experienced the evolution process of specialization of production, director’s elite and popularization of aesthetic. Micro-blog plays an important role of carrier in the birth of microfilm. And advertisement is difficult to separate from microfilm, as cross relationship. Microfilm, namely, broadcasts on new media platforms, especially social network platforms represented by micro-blog, and has a complete story through system planning and production, a video clip similar to film.Microfilm has characteristics of postmodernism. In three aspects of microfilm story, narrative strategy and audio-visual language, microfilm has distinct postmodernity. Microfilm makes use of all kinds of postmodern narrative strategy of deconstruction, parody, collage, black humor and carnival, etc, audio-visual language of complanation, adaptation and MV, to deduce little plain stories of little people vicissitudes in morden society from the microscopic view. Microfilm subversions inherent aesthetic and the hero image, makes contradiction absurdity and visual spectacle, and has entertainment magic, releasing real pressure of audience.Microfilm tends to return to mainstream values, show a passion for pure love, responsibility of marriage, and maintain of family affection, persistence of life dreams and heroism complex, faith of good and evil. The root is commercial penetration and the manipulation of ideology, the duality of creator’s own critical awareness and approval seeking, and Chinese deep-rooted traditional ethical culture,In short, the microfilm is a contradictory unity of postmodern, entertaining and critical, commercial and mainstream.
