We have recognized that reading teaching has taken an important position in foreign language teaching for a long time. With the developing of language learning strategy, much more SLA researchers realize the value of the combination of reading teaching and language learning strategy. Since1970s, researchers set about the studies on learning strategy in reading teaching from some aspects such as the strategy using differences between successful reader and unsuccessful reader, the strategy comparison between the first language learner and second language learner, meta-cognitive consciousness and reading comprehension, the individual differences of strategy using and learning strategy instruction of reading (Block,1986; Carrell,1988; Kern,1989).Even though researchers applied various methodologies in their study and give importance to different study focuses, most study show that learning strategy can promote reading ability to different extent. However, the results of learning strategy instruction in practical reading teaching are so complicated that we should explore more factors effecting reading teaching. As some of the learning strategy instruction achieved success but some others did not, we should perfect the whole framework of learning strategy instruction and much more empirical studies are being needed. On the other side, much more emphasis has been put on introspection of teaching model and we care about how to deal with the being apart circumstance between practical teaching and scientific research. teaching model, which can impart strategy using knowledge and cultivate students’ strategy using consciousness effectively. The author combines reading teaching with learning strategy instruction to probe into effective class reading teaching model. Picking out two groups of100students from Harbin Cambridge College, the author conducted integrated strategy instruction and separate strategy instruction to compare the outcome of the two.The promotion of their achievements demonstrates the effect of learning strategy instruction, especially for integrated instruction in which students are encouraged to break through traditional learning model and selects some learning strategies that can be internalized easily through16-week training and practicing. Then the author gets such conclusion as follows:1. Traditional reading teaching cannot advance the development of reading teaching and restrict learners’learning promotion.2. Integrated strategy instruction is more favorable and fruitful for College English reading class.3. Cultivation of strategy using consciousness is more important in strategy instruction than strategy itself.
