The Study On The Roles Of The Annals Of Sciences And Technologies In The Cultural Construction

The annals of science&technology is a branch of the local chronicles. It has the dual attributes of natural science and social science. It is an important constituent part of the cultural construction. This paper adopted the documentary analysis research methods combining with work practice. From a historical, dialectical and development point of view, traced the culture’s history of the local chronicles, studied on the connotation and characteristics of the annals of the science and technology, analyzed the culture attribute and the cultural functions of the annals, discussed relationship between the annals and the culture, probed into the roles of the annals in cultural construction. The article points out that the annals of science&technology possess the main properties of culture, such as political nature, national character, epochal character, diversity character, inheritance character, and so on. This article consider of the annals as the essence of culture and the important results of the culture construction. The Annals of science&technology play the roles of seven aspects in cultural construction including the counsel capacity of government-well policy, civilizing mission, history possessing, culture propagating, building up of the science and technology, motivating of studies, Science evaluation and guidance. Through analysis of the annals culture utilization and limiting factors, twelve suggestions were put forward surrounding the needs of cultural functions to improve the compiling quality of the annals of science&technology, and surrounding the needs of cultural construction to enhance the role of the annals in the culture construction. In order to improve the annals quality the measures as strengthening editing management, highlighting the local specialties, seizing the regional characteristics, grasping the features of the times and the advancement of science and technology, training team, controlling quality and intensifying popularization should be implemented. In order to make the annals of science&technology play a better role in the cultural construction the measures of building up communication platform, promoting foreign exchange, offering courses of the annals of science&technology in the middle school, widening the utilization fields of the annals, and innovating the channels of uses should be carried out.The purpose of this paper lies in to explore the theory of the annals of science&technology, to guide the annals compiling work, to Improve the book quality and to promote science and technology culture development. To study on the role of the annals of science&technology in cultural construction has important guiding significance for booming socialist cultural undertakings.
